Through her book, Florence Nightingale: Mystic, Visionary and Healer, Barbara was most influential in bringing about the recent consecration of Florence Nightingale as a lesser saint in the Episcopal Church. She has authored or co-authored 18 books and is a five-time recipient of the prestigious American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award.
